I Might Be Gone For a While

'Might be'?

What do you mean by might?

I added the most emphasis to GONE in my design of this project as this is what the book is about. Getting gone. Going away by yourself with certain practices that allow a safe return. It's easy to be by one's self and get comfortable. Never wanting to change it.

Knowing when to 'get gone' is tricky too. Sometimes we wear ourselves out so thin, we have nothing to stand on. We have nothing to pour out. Empty vessels doing empty work.

This is where the 'might' comes in. Might is an expression to ask permission and a past tense of May. It sheds light on what is about to happen. A possibility. Being solo for a long time is nothing to play with. It is important to have an idea of what this time away will need from you.

In my book, I Might Be Gone for a While, I cover what it feels like to need this, how to approach, go through, and come out of your time by yourself, swell.

“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”

Greetings! My name is C.C. White. I wrote this book in a season alone, when changes in my life, by a force other than me, were happening. Forced acceptance because there was no possibility to revert back to how things were. I've stepped into solitude quite a few times before and I always had the same problems. Loneliness, avoiding rather than confronting, and punishing myself because at some point in my life this is what I believed I deserved.

While I do believe time alone is useful in today's world, I decided to get gone a better way and document my practices. And can you believe they all actually worked?

"Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."

This was the instruction Jesus gave to the disciples after they were tired, drained and hungry from the days work. In the end they were blessed with plentiful.

Get some rest, restore and come back better as I journey in solitude in my new book.
